The J1939 male to J1939 female and OBD2 female splitter Y cable is a special cable used for connecting automotive electronic systems. The following is a detailed introduction:

Structural characteristics

Interface type: One end is a J1939 male connector, used to connect devices or systems with J1939 interfaces on vehicles, following the 9-pin pin definition of SAE J1939 standard; After the intermediate branch, there are two interfaces, namely J1939 female head and OBD2 female head. The J1939 female head can be connected to other J1939 male head devices to achieve device interconnection within the J1939 network. The 16 pin OBD2 female head is used to connect diagnostic devices or other related devices that comply with the OBD2 standard.

Cable material: High quality copper conductors are usually used to ensure good conductivity and signal transmission performance, reducing losses during signal transmission. The insulation layer and sheath are generally made of wear-resistant, oil resistant, high temperature resistant, and corrosion-resistant materials, such as polyvinyl chloride (PVC), polyurethane (PU), etc., to adapt to the complex environmental conditions inside the vehicle. In order to prevent electromagnetic interference, the cable also has a shielding layer, such as metal woven mesh or aluminum foil shielding, which can effectively isolate external electromagnetic signals and ensure the stability and accuracy of data transmission.

Multi device connection: It can simultaneously connect J1939 devices and OBD2 devices. For example, during vehicle maintenance or inspection, it can connect the vehicle's J1939 system with professional J1939 diagnostic equipment for in-depth vehicle system diagnosis and data analysis, while connecting to a universal OBD2 scanning tool through the OBD2 interface to obtain basic vehicle fault codes and operating data.

Data sharing and interaction: enables data in the J1939 network to be transmitted to OBD2 devices, and also enables instructions or requests sent by OBD2 devices to be transmitted to corresponding devices in the J1939 system, achieving data sharing and interaction between devices with different protocols.

System expansion and upgrade: It is convenient to add new J1939 or OBD2 devices to the vehicle for system function expansion or upgrade. If an OBD2 based driving recorder or fuel consumption monitoring device is added, it will not affect the connection and communication between the vehicle's existing J1939 system and other devices.
